Sauk, Tirana: what to know

Sauk lies on the hills to the south of Liqeni Artificial (the Artificial Lake). It is a quiet area with villas, gated residences and low-rise apartment buildings, with plenty of greenery.

Where it is

Sauk is about 3.3 km south-east of Skanderbeg Square, on the hills behind the Grand Park, on the Rruga e Elbasanit side. The name covers two places: the neighbourhood inside the city and the village of Sauk i Vjetër, in the Farkë administrative unit.

Transport

Two bus lines run here from the centre: Qendër–Sauk, which continues to the south-eastern terminal by the TEG shopping centre, and Qendër–Sauk i Vjetër.

Housing and history

Most of the building dates from after 1995. Sauk i Vjetër joined the Municipality of Tirana in 2015, together with Farkë. The TEG shopping centre is not in Sauk but further on, in Lundër.
